 The History of StreetAuthority
  Since our founding in 2001, we've grown by leaps and bounds. Here's a brief look at some of StreetAuthority's major milestones:

2001
Paul Tracy and Lou Betancourt start StreetAuthority in Washington, D.C. Paul's experience makes him a perfect fit as StreetAuthority's Chief Investment Strategist, while Lou's marketing background helps the company start attracting readers.

2002
Working nearly day and night, Paul and Lou begin to see their efforts take hold as the subscription count breaks the 10,000 mark. A newly built website consists of just three newsletters - StreetAuthority Market Advisor, Swing Trader, and Investor Update. Click here to see how our website looked way back then.

2003
In May, Paul Tracy creates the "Beat the S&P" Portfolio as then-editor of Market Advisor. The portfolio quickly becomes one of Market Advisor's most popular features due to its strong performance.

2004
The first issue of High-Yield Investing is published. At first, the publication focuses on well-known blue-chip stocks paying dividends. At the request of readers, editor Carla Pasternak begins to look in more obscure places for high yields, which causes High-Yield Investing's readership to soar.

2006
StreetAuthority moves from online newsletters to print newsletters as well. The popularity of the print version of Carla Pasternak's High-Yield Investing proves to be an instant hit and helps boost the letter's circulation to more than 10,000 subscribers.

2007
The company's Maryland operations move into their new office in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The new space houses StreetAuthority's (growing) administrative staff.

Also in 2007, Nathan Slaughter draws on his expertise in the field of ETFs and closed-end funds and begins as Managing Editor of The ETF Authority.

2008
StreetAuthority moves its editorial operations to a new office in the hills of Austin, Texas. The extra space is welcomed as extra staff is brought on to handle the growth in popularity of StreetAuthority's products.

High-Yield International, the sister publication to High-Yield Investing launches. At the time, it proves to be the most popular new product launch in our history.

2009
Proving to be our busiest year to date, we launch the redesign of our main StreetAuthority website, with the goal of becoming a destination for anyone searching for financial news and ideas. The new sites features daily free articles, improved stock quotes and easier navigation.

At the same time, we enjoy two of our most successful product launches: Amy Calistri's Stock of the Month and Andy Obermueller's Government-Driven Investing.

Managing Editor Bob Bogda -- an industry veteran of 30 years -- also joins the StreetAuthority staff. With experience at  The Wall Street Journal and Business Financial Publishing, Bob takes charge of the editorial direction and immediately sets out to boost StreetAuthority's daily content.

2010
At the start of the year, we launch our free investor education website, InvestingAnswers.com. With dozens of new educational articles each month and a comprehensive dictionary  boasting more than 1,000 financial terms, the site proves to be an instant hit. Just a few months later, SmallStocks.com launches, bringing readers news and investment ideas from the underreported small-cap universe. Combined with the growing popularity of StreetAuthority.com, we break the 1 million visitors per month mark across all our web properties.

We also launch the new "Courses" section of our StreetAuthority website. This section provides free instruction on many of the techniques our newsletter editors use to make their profitable calls.
