James Brumley is a StreetAuthority contributor. He brings a wide degree of experience in the investment industry, including time as a registered representative with a major brokerage firm where he worked directly with investors and built client portfolios.

James was also an analyst with a reputable trading newsletter, before eventually being named the Director of Research for the newsletter's multiple trading services, while also continuing to write. One of his passions is educating active investors about the way the market works in the real world.

Now James uses his fundamentally-based background as well as his technical analysis experience, combining the best of both schools of thought. This dual philosophy is evident in most of his writing, which has appeared in several major financial venues, including Motley Fool, Investopedia and Small Cap Network.

James holds a degree in finance from Transylvania University. When not working, his down time is still spent researching stocks, sectors, market data and the history of all three as work on a book that will fully explain his unique technical/fundamental strategies.
