The ‘Forever’ Investment You Never Realized You Could Own

I recently finished a brand new report called “The 10 Stocks To Own For The Rest Of Your Life.”

The title is pretty self-explanatory — I compiled a group of stocks so strong and dependable that I think you could buy them now and profit from them forever.

#-ad_banner-#Unsurprisingly, they have a remarkable track record. These 10 stocks gained an average of 829% over the past decade, beating the S&P 500 by 700 percentage points.

That’s equivalent to an average return of 25% a year.

To find these “Forever Stocks,” I searched for companies with three key traits that many of the market’s strongest performers share.

I started by honing in on companies that possess what I like to call “Irreplaceable Assets.”

If you’ve ever been to Boulder Canyon in Nevada, you may have seen firsthand how Irreplaceable Assets can create wealth for the long haul.

The harsh canyon in the heart of the desert holds one of the greatest investments in U.S. history: the Hoover Dam.

The Hoover Dam is a profit machine. Finished in 1936 at a cost of $49 million, the dam today generates and sells about $63 million in electricity every year — nearly 130% of what it cost to build it in the first place. And the dam generates those revenues each and every year and is practically guaranteed to keep doing so for decades.

That’s because the Hoover Dam is the very definition of an Irreplaceable Asset. No one can come along and build a competing dam anywhere near it.

The world will always need electricity. And as populations grow, we’ll need more electricity. That’s why even 80 years after it was built, the Hoover Dam is more important today than ever.

Now, I used the Hoover Dam as an example to show you just how important Irreplaceable Assets can be. Unfortunately, you and I can’t invest in the dam. It’s fully owned by the U.S. government, and there’s not a stock that you can buy that gives you access.

Fortunately, there are dozens of other Irreplaceable Assets around the world — including many hydroelectric dams — that you can invest in.

Here’s a list of some of the main types of Irreplaceable Assets that our research team recently identified:

Irreplaceable Asset Examples
Buildings Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden
Railroads Union Pacific Railroad, Canada’s largest railroad
Airports Cancun International Airport, Mexico’s second-busiest
Hydroelectric Plants 195 in the United States, Canada and Brazil, to name a few
Toll Roads Thousands of miles of roads across Europe
Pipelines Hundreds of thousands of miles to oil hot spots like Permian Basin, Bakken shale formation and more
Ports Across Europe and China

As you can see, there are irreplaceable buildings, railroads, ports, airports, dams, power grids and more.

These timeless properties provide the same continuous long-term growth potential as the Hoover Dam, only many of them are owned by publicly-traded U.S. companies. So you can easily invest in them just like any other type of stock.

For example, most people don’t know that you can invest in the Empire State Building. The company that owns it is called Empire State Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE: ESRT).

This one-of-a-kind historic landmark is the definition of a picture-perfect Irreplaceable Asset. It’s the most photographed building in the world. And in 2007, it was named “America’s Favorite Architecture,” even ahead of the White House.

It was also the first building to have more than 100 stories and was named the seventh wonder of the modern world by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

There’s nothing else like it in the world. You can’t simply swap it out. No one’s going to build another one down the street. And even if they did, it would never have the same historical significance as the Empire State Building.

As a result, it’s one of the few investments in the world with almost never-ending demand. Each year, 3.6 million visitors pay $29 a ticket just to go to the top.

That’s more people than the entire populations of Wyoming, Vermont, North Dakota, South Dakota and Alaska combined.

Given this, it should be no surprise that Empire State Realty Trust is raking in profits.

The building generates more than $100 million a year from tourists alone — not to mention the revenue from the 800,000 square feet of office space inside.

Since going public in 2013, Empire State Realty Trust has handily outperformed the broader market.

Now, Empire State Realty Trust is a great investment, but it did not make my elite group of 10 stocks to hold for the rest of your life.

One that did however — we’ll call it “Stock #1” of my 10 stocks to hold forever — owns a collection of the some of the world’s most valuable Irreplaceable Assets in one of Mexico’s most visited tourist destinations.

It’s located in one of the only places on Earth with mild temperatures, luxurious resorts, white-sand beaches and close proximity to the United States. And best of all, shares of this company trade right here at home on the New York Stock Exchange.

The company has performed tremendously over the past decade, beating the market by more than 630 percentage points in the process.

That’s what can happen when you own something truly irreplaceable.

I recently discussed this stock with a live audience during a presentation of my new report “10 Stocks To Hold For The Rest Of Your Life.”

Not only did I give away the name and ticker symbol of this company, but I revealed several other companies that made my list as well and discussed the two other important traits that my elite group of “Forever” stocks shared.
